Top 10 Footballers of 2005
I am poor at selecting the team of 2005. Soo I will post the top 10 footballers of 2005. Some may not be the best though, but they are determined enough to be our role models. The list is not in particular orders.
1) Ronaldinho (Brazil/Barcelona) - Continue to dominate the football world with his incredible skills. Led Barcelona to La Liga glory and then Brazil in Confederation Cup and then World Cup 2006 qualifications. Retain the World Player Award.
2) Samuel E'Too (Cameroon/Barcelona) - The top scorer for the Spanish Champions and 2nd top in the league last season. He made Real regret of losing him... cheaply hahax.
3) Diego Forlan (Uruguay/Villareal) - Once a flop of Man U, but he finally made it in his debut season at Spanish La Liga by being the top scorer in the league, and led Villareal to Champions League qualification, which brings them faced his former club Man U in the following season.
4) Jamie Carragher (England/Liverpool) - The unsung hero of the team. While Sami Hyppia's been ageing and Traore making mistakes, he is there to cover for them and led Liverpool to multiple clean sheets with him in the defence.
5) Steven Gerrard (England/Liverpool) - The captain of the UCL winning team. The golden boy who almost went to Chelski yet made a U-turn. From then onwards, he redeemed himself by bringing Liverpool to the top 3 of EPL and mounting an impossible yet serious challenge on the title.
6) Alberto Gilardino (Italy/Parma and then Milan) - TO my delight, he is a big signing for Milan and he continued to score goals like the way he did at Parma.
7) Frank Lampard (England/Chelsea) - I don't like Chelski. Yet I can't deny, he is the key to Chelsea's title victory.
8) Peter Crouch (England/Southampton and then Liverpool) - He may not have the speed, may not have the finishing but he has the determination and hardworkingness. Struggle to score for quite a period of time and when people thinks he is just a one season wonder, he began to score goals, starting from that freak one against Wigan.
9) Andriy Shenvchenko (Ulkraine/Milan) - May not have the best season though. Missing that decisive spot kick which ended Milan's hopes but he led his country to World Cup qualification. Continue to score goals...
10) Hernan Crespo (Argentina/Milan and then Chelsea) - He had an excellent season with Milan. But too bad he had to go back to Chelski, he may be reluctant but he still scoring goals over there, despite not being the starter at times.
SPECIAL Coach of the Year...
I should say Guus Hiddink. Why ??? He created miracles again after what happen in 2002 as he led Australia to World Cup Qualifications. He ended the Aussies' 31 year wait and Playoffs JinX...
